We know what you're
thinkin'. You're thinkin' about cactus. Lots and lots of
cactus. If you were traveling through the Saguaro
National Monument, we could understand. But Arizona has
long passed the lonesome days of Wile E. Coyote and the
Roadrunner, and the cartoon landscapes they invoke.
(Okay, we admit, they're still around, too; but there's
so much more!) So much more, in fact, that
Arizona has become one of the fastest-growing states in
the U.S. And why not? Who could resist the lure of the
Grand Canyon, the Colorado River, Superstition Mountain
range, Painted Desert, and all...that...cactus?
Not us. We must humbly confess that Arizona is one of
our favorite places. Its rich landscape is matched only
by the intensity and vibrancy of its major cities, as we
confirmed on our virtual voyage.
Better yet, whether you want to hunker down in the
heart of the city or take off for the mountains, most of
Arizona's natural wonders are just a stone's throw away
from its metropolitan centers-well, depending on how
hard you can throw. You get the idea.
